ABOUT TAMARINDO
Tamarindo is a beach located in the northern region of Guanacaste along the Pacific coast. This region of Costa Rica is most notably popular for the warm, arid climate with temperatures ranging from 80-100F year round. Two airlines service the area daily from San Jose: Sansa and Nature Air. There also is an air-conditioned shuttle service with a capacity of twelve passengers.
To Liberia s airport there are lots of flights working.
Playa Tamarindo is separated by an estuary from the famous Playa Grande, nesting home of the Leather Back Turtles. Nesting season begins in October and lasts through May. In the southern part of the bay you will find Playa Langosta, featuring luxury beachfront homes and the Langosta estuary, famous for its large surf breaks.
Life in Tamarindo
This beach town is one of the most popular beaches in the country with all of the comforts available, like international and typical restaurants, bars, hotels and shops. It is a surfer’s hot spot! You can find big waves in Playa Langosta, Playa Grande and Playa Negra. All of these beaches are a short drive from Tamarindo.
Other sporting activities are sailing, boat trips, scuba diving, sportfishing and golfing. You can also rent cars, scooters, ATV’s, motorcycles, bicycles, surfboards and kayaks. There are pharmacies and emergency medical clinics 24 hours a day.
